T.O.P. (Thomas Ockerse)

Just one year after The A–Z Book, young Thomas Ockerse published this one as a young professor at Indiana University. A magnificent showcase of concrete poetry and graphic puns. Presented as a portfolio of fifty loose leaves printed via silkscreen (by Ockerse) and offset, the whole is wildly imaginative. It comes with a five-page introduction and checklist by the Danish poet and artist Vagn Steen. A fun and beautiful thing. RARE.

Condition:
The contents are fine. The chipboard box is solid as a rock but shows minor soiling as is likely to happen when something is 55-years-old and covered in white paper.
Notes:
On the inside of the box is a rubber stamp impression with Ockerse’s logo and Providence, Rhode Island address. He began teaching at RISD in 1971, one year after this was published.
