Time: a documentracing (Thomas Ockerse)

$250.00

This one is a result from tracing fragments of the October 29, 1973, issue of Time magazine. The pages of the book correspond to the pages of the magazine. A single unit (one symbol or a grouping of related symbols) was traced from each page, always retaining its original spacial position. The selection of symbols was obtained in the spontaneous action of “reading” the magazine from front to back, without predetermined selections or theme. The final book was scaled down photomechanically to reduce production costs—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. A total charmer.
