Typografische Monatsblätter (1.1977)

So many issues of Typografische Monatsblätter are largely filled with technical stuff in German and French that are completely uninteresting and not the least bit useful. But even in those completely-uninteresting and not-the-least-bit-useful issues there is a section about design and typography. This one has a handsome section dedicated to Adrian Frutiger's signage system for the Paris-Roissy (Charles de Gaulle) Airport in the TM Communication feature, alongside Hans-Rudolf Lutz’s essay on design as information and the typography of Swiss newsstands. The whole thing is mostly in foreign languages so you probably won’t be able to read it, but you can look at it for a lifetime—especially the striking cover by Hans-Rudolf Lutz.
