It’s December of 1984 and Alvin Eisenman is writing with the latest Graphic Design Alumni directory from Yale. Do directories still exist or would everyone go nuts about privacy concerns? (The concerns are valid. But directories can be useful.) Anyway, this unbound photocopied directory lists 422 graduates of the program by year (from 1951 to 1984), providing their address, phone number, and a note about what they were doing. If you’re nuts like we are, you’ll find it pretty interesting to see what your friends, colleagues, teachers, and heroes were up to in 1984. And where they were living! Being Cantabrigian Massholes ourselves, we like to see who was around and who was living in our neighborhood. A fascinating document that holds lots of clues to good stuff.
