Beispiele Künstlerischer Schrift

This is the third in a series of books featuring original lettering by designers, letterers, calligraphers, and artists from around Europe. This volume from 1906 was edited by Austrian designer Rudolf von Larisch. So it’s meant to represent the state of the art of lettering in that year. Now, who are we talking about here? This one is loaded with lettering by C.R. Ashbee, Gustav Bamberger, Peter Behrens, J.V. Cissarz, F.H. Ehmcke, Eugène Grasset, and Rudolf Koch—and those are just the few names we recognize. The rest we recognize as examples of good and interesting work. An uncommon book, there is a lot to steal from in here.
