Proportion: An Introduction

Produced by Heidi Humphrey in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Fine Arts at Yale University in 1978, this one introduces us (as promised by the title) to proportion—an important concept that is probably not discussed in most graphic design programs these days. (Side note: In a crit recently, we were told not to bring up issues of legibility with the students.) A concise and informative and heavily-illustrated argument in favor of being familiar with a foundational tool.
