Weiss auf Schwarz! Reklameschrift “Negativ”

$300.00

What’s white on black and read all over? Not this face—at least with regard to the part about being read all over. We can’t find much info about this face. We’re not even sure what it’s called. Is it Reklameschrift “Negativ” or Fragmente? We don’t know. But here’s what we can tell you: This face designed for letterpress printing is made up of counters and negative space so that the actual letters always print white. The tops and bottoms of the letters would have been defined by type-high rules rather than drawn forms. Neat. And scarce. WorldCat shows just Harvard and the University of Amsterdam with copies. And the Klingspor Museum has one.
