[4 prints by Rudo Spemann]

We give up. About 2.5 years ago we got these from Inge Druckrey. They were in a folder marked “SPEMANN ORIGINAL PRINTS.” We know the Spemann is Rudo. But we can’t find anything about the “Original Prints” part. We’ve found three of these four items reproduced in Rudo Spemann: Monographie und Werkverzeichnis seiner schriftkunst but the descriptions don’t reference reproductions. It does reference Japanese paper (which these are on) and the sizes jibe, we don’t know why he would have made reproductions of these things. Still, they are beautiful examples of Spemann’s life work—cut short when he died at 42 in a Soviet prison camp.
