Bookbinding: Operations performed (Arno Werner)
It’s been noted that the operations performed when binding a book by hand involved methods unchanged since the fourteenth century. This poster produced in celebration of Arno Werner, one of the craft’s finest practitioners, lists the thirty-four steps required to turn sheets into a book. We can’t make out who sprips it (E.D. Idle?) but we can make out that this was printed at Meriden-Stinehour and signed by Arno. A must for any book binder, book finder, or book minder.
