Dressed in Black

What we take for granted in our immediate surroundings (or country) can be remarkable to people from far away. In East Germany, these covers by Lothar Reher were pretty unremarkable to East Germans. They took them for granted. But the authors of this book traveled from abroad, fell in love, and put together this loving tribute to this wildly impressive body of work. It’s crazy how much one can do with black, white, a few lines of type, and some found photos.
