Modern Typography & Layout
Was this the first American book about modern typography & layout? We’ve no idea. But get this: It was published one year after Tschichold’s landmark Die Neue Typographie, so it’s gotta be a contender for some important distinction. Imagine what our dopy American ancestors must have thought when seeing the work featured in this book. Even after all this time it’s still striking.
- Author: Douglas C. McMurtrie
- Size: 9.5 × 12.5 inches
- Pages: 190
- Binding: Hardcover
- Condition: The black buckram covers are intact but worn and soiled at the edges. The top spine is bumped and there is a discreet repair to the front inside gutter. Every once in a while there might be a mark or crease on a page here or there, but it’s a great rare book at a good price. It came straight from the granddaughter of the original owner.
