Some Book Decorations by Berthold Wolpe

Some Book Decorations by Berthold Wolpe is exactly what its title suggests. The twenty-eight illustrations and vignettes are printed from the original line cuts and come largely from Walter de la Mare’s Collected Poems (1942) and F.L. Le Mesurier’s Sauces, French and English (1947). The introduction explains where the blocks came from and provides a good intro to the work and life of Wolpe. It took us no time to read our own copy, but we picked up some good tidbits and gained a new appreciation for the work of someone we already appreciated.
