Ehmcke Antiqua

Allow us to present an abbreviated history of this face by lazily pasting the first paragraph of its entry in Fonts in Use: 

Designed by F.H. Ehmcke in 1907 and cut by Louis Hoell in 1908. Comes with alternates for ‘P’ and ‘T’. The italic companion Ehmcke-Kursiv followed in 1910. The regular was also cast by Caslon as Carlton (1911, without the long ‘s’ and with a non-kerning ‘f’) and by Neufville as Antigua Cervantes.

But here’s the Bauersche Gießerei specimen from 1920, design by Jakob Erbar and with decoration by Paul Schröder. A beautiful showing of a lovely not seen too often.
